Friday Favourite: Shiseido Matifying Compact Foundation Powder

That is a product I have literally been using for YEARS and still love it!
Shiseido is a high-end brand, but the quality is so worth the price. If you really want to get yourself one more expensive make-up-item, I’d recommend this foundation powder.
It can be used alone, over concealer or over your liquid foundation to set it.

PRO:
It is really mattifying, but at the same time it doesn’t dry out your skin (only if you already have visible dry spots). It comes in 6 different shades from “Light Ivory” to “Natural Bronze”. I have very light skin, so I use “Light Ivory” most of the time. Only when it’s summer and I get a little bit of a tan, I switch to the next darker shade “Light Beige”. The texture is also really good, it’s light and the product doesn’t settle anywhere in your lines. Moreover the powder is pretty long-lasting and does prevent your skin from getting oily. It even has an SPF 16, which makes it perfect for the summer.

“An oil-free powdery foundation that provides a sheer matte finish while minimizing the visibility of pores.

  • Contains a Shiseido-exclusive powder with exceptional skincare benefits to help fortify the skin’s barrier function.
  • NON-COMEDOGENIC.”

CON:
As already said, it’s not that cheap – but worth it!
It comes with a little sponge, which to me is not the perfect tool for all of your face. I only use it beyond my eyes to cover any redness and after applying all my eye-makeup to set it in place. Everywhere else I use a big powder/foundation brush.
Also, it’s not a product that provides you full-coverage, if that is what you’re searching for.
